About the Event

The Open Group FACE® (Future Airborne Capability Environment) and SOSA™ (Sensor Open Systems Architecture) Consortia Technical Interchange Meeting is an event that brings together industry experts, government officials, and technology enthusiasts to discuss and serve as a platform to exchange ideas, share best practices, and foster collaboration among stakeholders in the field.

It provides a unique opportunity to explore the technologies, innovative solutions, and emerging trends that are shaping the future of airborne and sensor systems. With a focus on interoperability, modularity, and affordability, the event aims to drive the development and adoption of open standards that enhance the capabilities, efficiency, and effectiveness of military and aerospace systems.

This year the TIM will focus on MOSA (Modular Open Systems Approach) in Practice and how MOSA benefits from both the FACE and SOSA approach. MOSA is a strategic standardization initiative by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) that requires the thousands of products and systems the services acquire every year to work together more productively.

The TIM/General Session will include Keynote Speakers, Panel Discussions, and minimal TIM Theme Papers, all focused on the positive lessons learned about various integrations.

The Open Group

Leading the development of open, vendor-neutral technology standards and certifications

The Open Group is a global consortium that enables the achievement of business objectives through technology standards and open source initiatives by fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and mutual respect among our diverse membership of more than 900 organizations.

The Open Group FACE® Consortium

The FACE® Consortium is a government, academia, and industry partnership formed to define an open avionics environment for all military airborne platform types. It has since grown into an aviation-focused professional group made up of industry suppliers, customers, and users. It provides a vendor-neutral forum for industry, academia, and government to work together to develop and consolidate the open standards, best practices, guidance documents, and business strategy. These objectives promote acquisition of affordable software systems, innovation, rapid integration of portable capabilities across global defense programs, and higher efficiency to deploy capabilities.

The Open Group SOSA™ Consortium

The Open Group SOSA™ Consortium enables government and industry to collaboratively develop open standards and best practices to enable, enhance, and accelerate the deployment of affordable, capable, interoperable sensor systems. SOSA is creating open system reference architectures applicable to military and commercial sensor systems and a business model that balances stakeholder interests. The architectures employ modular design and use widely supported, consensus-based, non-proprietary standards for key interfaces.
