Enterprise Architecture & Sustainability

One of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals is aimed specifically at industry and innovation, with the intention to: “Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation”. The UN’s vision is that such a goal can not only lead to a reduction in the significant carbon footprint of the IT industry, but will, itself, introduce and promote new technologies that can impact sustainability across all industries and contribute towards a much greener future.

This section of the event will focus upon the critical roles of the Enterprise Architect and technology standards, in aligning the strategy of the Portfolio of Digital Open Standards with the goals of increasing sustainability and reducing emissions.

TOGAF® User Group [No fee session]

The TOGAF® Standard, a standard of The Open Group, is the open Enterprise Architecture standard used by the world’s leading organizations to improve business efficiency. The Open Group TOGAF Certification Program has enabled more than 100,000 Enterprise Architects and trainers around the globe to demonstrate their proven knowledge of the framework. The TOGAF® User Group will focus upon some of the latest developments of The TOGAF Standard 10th Edition, and it's associated certification and training programs. You will be able to discuss key developments in the standard with some of the experts behind its evolution, and examine how they will impact your business in the agile and digital environment.

Open Professions Program Overview [No fee session]

The development and implementation of Digital Open Standards is often only as good as the professionals who direct and control the digital transformation efforts within a business. The Open Group Open Professions Program, seeks to provide globally recognized credentials ensuring that the best candidates can be found by a business to fill the challenging roles in the move to digital. An experienced-based certification program that provides a formal and recognized career progression for the individual professional, enhancing their value to the business. This workshop will focus on the value of the individual technical professional certifications within the program, for both the individuals concerned and the companies they work for.

Business Scenario Workshop on the Exchange of Environmental Data [No fee session]

Please plan to attend a special no cost workshop on the business issues related to the measurement and exchange of environmental data. This workshop has the objective to examine the current barriers that exist to the capture, measurement, exchange, and use of environmental data. In this workshop our focus will be on understanding the views of the various constituencies who are involved in the capture, measurement and sharing of carbon data for scopes 1, 2, and 3. This work will ultimately result in a findings document and presentation which will generally benefit these stakeholders in understanding the issues of concern to all the various constituencies. The output will also help to inform the work of The Open Group Open Footprint Forum, which is working on standards and an open source reference data platform in this area.
